2AS System debuts in the UK

ESA is proud to have introduced its bilateral collection system 2AS System to the UK market in collaboration with RSK Group Ltd , a British company leader in integrated environmental, engineering and technical services. The partnership between ESA and RSK is not only able to provide a complete waste collection solution across the UK, but can support Customers in every single phase of the project. The services offered by ESA and RSK cover the entire life cycle of the project, from the initial consultancy and planning phase, to the installation of the instruments, up to the on site and 24/7 remote assistance, and are completely adaptable to the specific needs of the individual Customer. "This modern system, whose range (consisting of robotic lifting equipment and above-ground containers in recycled HDPE) has recently been expanded by the introduction of underground containers, allows for the reduction of waste collection trips: this translates into less traffic and lower CO2 emissions”, comments the President of ESA Enrico Benedetti. “Intelligent telemetry systems alert the collection manager when the container is full and needs to be emptied. This technology, together with the introduction in the United Kingdom of specific containers for each waste fraction, guarantees an efficient and ecological solution. In short, a contribution to the quality of life". "Our attention, continues President Benedetti, is also directed to the operators: for example, the driver is never required to leave the vehicle, thanks to the robotic equipment that hooks and empties the containers, which is in fact operated from inside the driving cabin, avoiding accidents and contact with waste. A prerogative, especially in times of Coronavirus ". ESA, which has over 30 years of experience in the waste solutions market and has already successfully implemented these systems in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, constantly develops innovative solutions to meet the needs of its Customers and offers a wide range of range of products and technologies for waste collection, as well as providing design and consultancy, assistance and maintenance. RSK brings 30 years of local knowledge and expertise, supported by a network of over 100 offices and depots across the UK. The partnership between ESA and RSK has already won an important showcase in the Underground Refuse Solutions Framework , an association established by the Liverpool City Council and APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) to combat the problem of waste and is now ready for develop its solutions in Liverpool and other neighboring urban areas.

First photovoltaic waste compactor in Taranto

The first solar compactor in Southern Italy arrives in Taranto. The new Kyma Ambiente photovoltaic compactor was presented yesterday in the presence of the Mayor of Taranto Rinaldo Melucci, the President of Kyma Ambiente Giampiero Mancarelli, the Councilor for the Subsidiaries and Environment Paolo Castronovi and our Vice President Giorgia Iasoni. The 12 m³ KS series compactor, equipped with a high volumetric capacity and numerous safety and control systems, will support the collection of multi-material (plastic, metal, paper and cardboard) in the historic center and, thanks to the ease of handling, it will be moved to the market areas to meet the temporary needs of the collection. Recharged by the renewable energy of the sun thanks to the photovoltaic panels on the roof, the KS12 does not require electricity and represents a perfect example of circular economy, embracing the will of the Municipality to experiment with innovative forms to move towards the closed waste cycle in a increasingly sustainable way. Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente sincerely thanks the Municipality of Taranto and Kyma Ambiente for their collaboration. Underground waste collection system in Parma

The renewed underground waste collection system of Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente located in P. le Bertozzi (Parma) has recently been inaugurated. The underground collection system, result of an important restyling and modernization work by ESA and activated in the presence of the councilor for environmental sustainability policies Tiziana Benassi, will implement and further increase the separate collection of plastic and cans in the historic center, giving greater flexibility of conferral to citizens. In fact, the underground system, which is equipped with electronics for controlled access, responds to the residents' requests for an alternative solution to the classic kerbside collection, which is discreet and hygienic and helps redevelop the neighborhood, improving its urban decor and reducing the abandonment of plastic bags on the street. Thanks to their very small size and ease of use, the underground containers are also easily accessible to the weakest categories, such as the elderly and the disabled. Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente thanks Iren for the collaboration. Renovation of the underground waste collection system in Lucca

Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente is proud to have contributed to the updating and implementation of the underground waste collection system of Sistema Ambiente Lucca . The works just concluded involved, on all 11 locations in various areas of the stunning Tuscan town, the installation of new double-conferment underground containers for organic waste and glass. The further modernization works have made these stations more integrated into the surrounding environment; moreover, the small dimensions of the surface delivery containers, which make the solution adopted discreet and do not subtract spaces from the community, have contributed to help the whole city to invest in separate waste collection and, consequently in the environment. The advantage of this solution is to provide users with a simplified conferment, more suited to them, since it is tailored to their needs, and represents a non-impacting and environmentally friendly project. Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente t hanks Sistema Ambiente Lucca for the collaboration and availability shown and guaranteed in this difficult historical period.

Recycled HDPE: separate collection made sustainable

2AS containers: all the advantages of recycled HDPE for separate collection Technological solutions and respect for the environment are the principle on which Ecologia Soluzione Ambiente philosophy is based and which form the foundation of the 2AS System , an innovative modular robotic system for bilateral waste collection, single-man operated, which, thanks to the various set-ups and combinations proposed, adapts to the needs of all customers. The same system also includes a wide range of above-ground containers for separate waste collection, equipped with Kinshofer hook and made of recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE). "The advantages of this choice are numerous", says Enrico Benedetti, President of the Company. Being built with elements that reduce noise emission, polyethylene containers are quieter than others. This type of material - in general all plastic - is resistant to chemicals, water and saline solutions, and therefore retains its integrity better, even when exposed to high or low temperatures. "Then there are key factors to consider in the waste cycle that go in favor of this solution - underlines Benedetti - The polyethylene makes the product watertight and prevents leaks of percolating substances, which is very difficult, if not impossible, with others. containers. And, again, polyethylene has a thermal conductivity ten times lower than traditional materials; not heating up in the sun therefore allows a better conservation of the organic waste". Sustainability The use of plastic is often criticized when it comes to environmental sustainability. The sore point of polyethylene - which he fights insistently - is its dispersion into the environment. "However - points out the ESA President - it must be considered that the dispersion of plastics mainly concerns small and common / domestic products, not large monolithic products, which obviously are much less subject to dispersion in microplastics or abandonment" . Furthermore, again speaking of respect for the environment, polyethylene is a mono-material polymer (i.e. composed of a single type of plastic). “This purity of the material allows it to be 100% recycled”, highlights Benedetti. Elasticity The elasticity that characterizes polyethylene ensures that, in the event of accidental blows (an unusual release of the robot or a hit by a car while parking), the containers do not deform and do not dent. Even the vehicles are never damaged by contact with the container, which is quite usual, especially in heavily trafficked cities, where parking becomes almost a challenge. Furthermore, polyethylene is not a sharp material and this avoids all injuries, both for professionals and for citizens. Lightness Often the user who throws out the garbage has to force himself to open the lid, which is very heavy. The polyethylene container overcomes this problem, being very light and supporting only the steel of the loading point, the internal mechanisms and the bascules. With the same type of product compared to other materials, HDPE facilitates the action of the robot. Aesthetics and design The cleanliness of the streets and public spaces is a fundamental element of urban decor and is guaranteed by the containers, placed on the sidewalks and in the squares, which are emptied daily. The appearance of the containers also affects this. “Polyethylene is produced already intrinsically colored - explains the President - the containers, therefore, do not need to be painted, keep the color longer and are more pleasing to the eye. They represent the best choice from an aesthetic and environmental point of view. Also as regards the design, the polyethylene can be personalized with an indelible thermo-imprint. Last but not least - he concludes - cleaning and maintenance operations on a polyethylene container are easier ”.
