30 June 202518,000 Bins for a Cleaner, More Cared-for City
On June 25, 2024, a meaningful project took shape in the heart of the Italian capital: the first CeStò bin was installed in Rome, launching a new chapter in urban cleanliness and civic engagement. Just one year later, the initiative has grown into a tangible success, with over 18,000 CeStò bins now in place across the city, serving residents and enhancing the quality of public spaces.
A Symbol of Urban Responsibility
CeStò is more than just a waste bin. It’s a symbol of a broader vision—bringing together functionality, design, and sustainability to promote a cleaner and more respectful city environment. Designed to blend seamlessly into the urban landscape, each CeStò bin encourages a culture of shared responsibility and care for the places we live in every day.
With its simple and distinctive look, durable recycled materials, and user-friendly structure, CeStò stands as a reminder that small actions can lead to big changes—starting with how we treat our shared spaces.
A Collaborative Success
This achievement would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of key public partners. We extend our sincere thanks to the City of Rome and AMA S.p.A. for believing in this project and making its citywide implementation a reality.
We also want to thank the many residents of Rome, whose daily actions are turning CeStò into a true symbol of civic pride and environmental care.
Building a Sustainable Future, One Bin at a Time
CeStò perfectly embodies ESA’s mission: delivering practical, reliable, and sustainable solutions to improve quality of life in urban environments. What began in Rome is just the beginning. We are already looking ahead to expand this model to other cities, where public space deserves to be valued, protected, and enhanced through responsible and inclusive innovation.
We are proud of what we’ve accomplished in this first year, and we’re excited about what lies ahead. Because when people, purpose, and progress come together, real change happens—bin by bin, street by street.
